OUTFIT #1: Cozy Neutrals (for any occasion)
I called this look Cozy Neutrals because adding sheer tights and booties to the dress give it a more casual/comfy feel while still being dressy. To add on to the casual feel of the outfit, I chose to add a leather jacket to the outfit. You gotta admit that wearing a leather jacket makes you feel like a bada** (or as my boyfriend says, Ghost Rider :P). Although the dress has tribal print detailing embroidered into it, I don't think the chevron print on the wristlet clashes with it because of the neutral color scheme of the outfit. To make the outfit more holiday-y, I included a classic red lipstick and olive green nail polish. Since the polish is a deeper shade of green, you can pair it with the red lip to be festive without being tacky. Red lipstick is always appropriate, and it will especially stand out while wearing a light dress. | Dress: H&M Leather Jacket: H&M Wristlet: Cole Haan Booties: Candie's / Kohls Earrings & Midi Ring: Forever 21 Lipstick: Riri Woo from Mac Nail Polish: Julep's Kendra |
OUTFIT #2: Classic & Sweet (for Christmas)
You can never go wrong with a red dress for Christmas, and nude shoes/accessories can go with everything! The lace bodice around the sides and back of the dress is pretty eye-catching, so the rest of the outfit is very simple. Not only do the pumps add height, but the nude color gives the illusion of longer legs (and this girl needs all the height she can get!). The classic pearl studs and cute bow ring add the sweet part to the look. I love this purse because it's the perfect size to hold all my essentials, and it can be used as a purse or wristlet. The lip butter has a sheer/glossy finish to go well with the red of the dress without being too in your face. And, lastly, the nail polish is to die for! It's a glitter polish that goes on opaque, which I've never seen before, so you can get away with just one coat for easy application. | Dress: H&M Peacoat: Black Poppy / Zumiez (gift from my BF!) OUTFIT #3: Simple & Edgy (for New Year's)
This is probably my favorite outfit of the three; I love polka dots, and I've been on the hunt for a dress with the sheer strap/shoulder area, so it's the perfect fit for me! Yet again, I chose nude heels to add height, but I went with a more modern but still classic pair of strappy sandals. I included the leather jacket again in this outfit to add some edge against the fun polka dot print. All of the jewelry I've featured in all 3 outfits have been gold since it compliments my skin tone the best, and I always keep it simple. I wear the necklace, earrings, and ring on a daily basis, so I added the bangles as a little something extra. The neon yellow wallet adds a pop of color against all the black. The color of the year for 2014 is Radiant Orchid, so of course I had to include it in the look! Like the wallet, bright nails and a bright lip will stand out even more with the black dress and jacket. | Dress: H&M Leather Jacket: H&M Wallet: Nordstrom Rack Sandals: Steve Madden / Nordstrom Rack Jewelry: Forever 21, H&M, & Urban Outfitters Name Necklace: personalized in the Philippines Lipstick: Wet 'n Wild Silk Finish in Fuchsia with Blue Pearl Nail Polish: Zoya's Mason |
